Can I copy or download things from the Web site?

You may copy and download things from this site for your own personal use and that includes any use for educational purposes (see below) providing the information is not republished in public in any form nor be used for profitable purposes. Be aware that images may be electronically watermarked and therefore easily traced on the Internet. Most of the images on this site are the property of professional photographers or other organisations and are used here under written licence. If you wish to use any images for commercial purposes please contact the webmaster who will put you in touch with the copyright owner.

I need to use something on this site for my school work?

As stated above, if you are in full time education, you are free to download and use items for your school work without further permission but anything you do download must not be republished by anyone nor must it appear on another Web site.

Can we have the dates of our Church or School Fete in the Events Dairy?

Certainly ANY EVENT however large or small may apply for insertion in the National Events Dairy, we don't guarantee to make the link but you are free to apply, One thing though, your event MUST have its own website because we need something to link too! We also prefer to link to events that happen at least once a year.

I have created another Web site for a place that is already listed. Can I still apply?

Certainly, we frequently list more than one site for a particular location. You will still however have to comply with our other Terms and Conditions of Linking

Does this Web site operate under any specific rules?

Oh yes! The rules apply to your use of the information on this site and what we are prepared to publish. Full details of these rules are in our Terms and Conditions

I am a Photographer will you publish some of my work?

You will find many images around the Web site that have been provided by both amateur and professional photographers. Although we do not pay to publish these images we do, as you can clearly see, acknowledge the source and where appropriate provide hyperlinks back to the source. The images provided in this manner are generally offered for sale by the provider. This arrangement exposes the photographers work to a greater number of visitors than would be available on their own site and provides us with some very good artwork for the enjoyment of our visitors. If you wish to discuss similar arrangements please contact the Webmaster.

You have not listed my village or community. Why not and will you put it in the Directory?

We have already listed thousands of communities around the whole of the United Kingdom. These communities are generally down to Parish level where they have a representative council. There are of course many other communities that are part of larger parishes that we have not listed, similarly there are whole towns missing because they are administered by a higher authority. If your town, village or community is not in our database then you may send information direct to the Webmaster and we will see if we can include your suggestion. It will help a great deal if you can tell us which official REGION, COUNTY and DISTRICT (if applicable) that you community is in or better still send us the URL of the page you think you should be on. This will help us locate exactly where you are!

I have noticed a spelling mistake, do you wish to know about it?

Yes please! We have typed in millions of words and there are bound to be quite a lot of errors (SORRY!) but this is inevitable. It will add to everyone's enjoyment if these are corrected. Please send your corrections to the Webmaster
